After struggling down hill through very steep rocky trails every muscle aches from my legs to my hands. I completed over 9 miles or 20340 steps so far. I’m very tired but satisfied and thankful for Jesus guiding every step. I took a beak after 3 miles and met a wonderful young lady from Switerland. She just finished her degree in Psycology and introduced me to a hospital manager from South Africa. She will walk from Switerland to Santiago a total of about 2000 km (for you Amerian’s that’s over 1200 miles). As we parted we entered a small chapel on the side of the road. When I finished and entered the village today I came upon another chapel. I prayed in both and gaved thanks to the Lord to getting me through this very tuff day. Through out my day when I started to get discouraged I would come upon God’s gift some wild blackberries. It reassured me that he was in charge and I will make it ok. One false step and I would either beat Chuck to heaven or experience a Spanish hospital. I was truly taxed to the limit ( I could hear my wife telling me to go slow and be careful). Thank God this part of the Camino is begin me.

This is not a vacation it’s was hard today but it’s what I wanted to do. I truly felt closer to God one false step and I would have beaten Chuck to heaven or met a Spanish nurse and Doctor.

Good morning for you and it is good night to me. I am already in bed thinking of your walk today. I just read that a long road must be traveled before one arrives at uninhibited contact with God, but it is the road – and the only road -to one’s own fulfillment.
Just read it and wished I could be with you on your walk today, but again we are in our thought of each other. Travel smart.

9 miles! Awesome! Uncle Frank when I would do my long runs I would make a list in my head of family/friends and each mile I would focus on just that one person for that mile. Think about memories with that person, a prayer for that person, make a song in my head about them (lol), etc. It helped me get through one mile at a time! You’re doing great! Issa
Frank your really a super hero,just reading about your adventure….I was talking to joe and in my heart I wish he went with you…..you both would have story to tell,and helped each other,but you are meeting people from all over the world,and each has a story,and becomes a friend to you……keep walking and your in our prayers….I wish I could have walked just alittle and have that experience…you never know what the future holds for anyone…..take care…..your journey is priceless……
