I’m still packing and it’s a good thing because I’m too excited to sleep. I really appreciated all the support everyone gave me today. I’m sure that once I start walking I will settle down. I will write again once I’m in the plane or in Spain.

I will start walking in the low mountains before the end of the first week. I hope I will not be walking in the rain it will be hard enough to climb the hills without the mud.
It’s walking in the Rain because I need to get to the next village. It’s solitude and no distractions other than the beauty of God’s creations.
My trip starts near Leon and continues to Santiago where I will visit the grave of St. James.

Welcome to my journal recording my experiences preparing and walking the 2016 Camino. My goal is to walk 160 to 200 miles across Spain from Leon to Santiago in approximately one month. Why? It is complicated, I want to take some time to live life in a simple manor, to get away all the distractions of modern life. Just walking from one village to another and giving me time to reflect on my life, time to get closer to God. Hopefully my feet and body will hold out as I build a closer relationship with the Lord. Pray for me as I will pray for you.
